Introducing the Powerful New Member of the Camaro Lineup: Camaro Z/28

    Last updated 9 months ago

At the 2013 New York Auto Show, Chevrolet shocked the auto world by announcing the reintroduction of the Camaro Z/28 sports car. Making its original debut in 1968, the Camaro Z/28 was a legend in the road racing scene. Now, Chevrolet has brought the legendary performance of the Z/28 back in a new, 2014 model. Let’s take a look at this powerful new member of the Camaro lineup, available at our San Diego Chevy dealer:

    Unstoppable Performance

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 features a handcrafted LS7 engine, which is the smallest production V8 engine ever offered on the market. Crafted with naturally-aspirated, lightweight titanium components, this incredible engine propels the Z/28 with unstoppable speed and power. With the Performance Traction Management system and advanced cooling system, the Camaro Z/28 is ready for the race track.

    Sleek Styling

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 features all of the sporty flair of the original 1968 model, but with 21st century advancements. The aerodynamic body has been fine tuned to produce down force at high speeds, and a large front splitter reduces body lift even further. With aggressive exterior accents such as a rear spoiler and diffuser, the Camaro Z/28 will be sure to grab attention wherever it goes.

    High Performance Interior

Every detail of the 2014 Camaro Z/28 has been crafted with the driving enthusiast in mind. The front seats feature RECARO designed features, which provide excellent support and stability during high speed maneuvers. The driver focused cockpit is fully equipped with performance-ready features, which will thrill you when you are putting this incredibly athletic car through its paces.

    Chevrolet: Ecologically Responsible Engineering, EcoLogic

    Last updated 9 months ago

Chevrolet has been a leading automaker for over 100 years, and they’ve made a commitment to removing up to 8 million metric tons of CO2 from the air—the equivalent of the emissions from every Chevrolet vehicle sold from November 2010 to December 2011. In order to achieve this goal, Chevrolet has taken a holistic approach to ecologically responsible engineering. Such is the driving force behind the EcoLogic initiative.

Chevrolet is focused on designing advanced fuel-efficient technologies, reducing the long-term environmental impact of existing facilities, and facilitating transparent manufacturing for independent auditing. The LEED-Gold Lansing Delta Township assembly plant was the largest manufacturing facility of its kind to receive LEED certification, and several Chevrolet plants already utilize renewable energy sources. Additionally, new Chevrolet models such as the Volt and Cruze Eco provide superior fuel efficiency, and the average Chevrolet vehicle can recycle 85 percent of its weight.

These are just a few of the ecologically responsible innovations throughout the Chevrolet manufacturing process. The new Chevrolet Silverado has been fully redesigned for the 2014 model year to provide superior performance, comfort, and fuel efficiency under the toughest conditions. This best-selling truck may look similar to the outgoing model on the outside, but make no mistake; its underpinnings have been completely revised from hood to hitch to provide:

    Superior Performance

There are three new engines for the 2014 Silverado, all of which are part of GM’s Gen V small-block engine family: a 4.3L V6, a small-block 5.3L V8, and a small-block 6.2L V8. The word is still mum on figures for the smallest and largest engines until the release date draws closer, but reports show that Chevy’s new 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque while still returning 23 MPG highway—the highest fuel economy figures for any V8-powered, full-size pickup. For comparison, the outgoing 5.3L engine produced 315 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque.

    Improved Safety

Nearly two-thirds of the cab is now made of high-strength steel for improved safety and performance. Additionally, mechanical enhancements such as electric power steering, stiffer front springs, and aerodynamic tweaks to the underbody all work to provide superior handling.

    Enhanced Comfort

The interior of the new Silverado 1500 receives new materials and the latest entertainment and connectivity features. Redesigned doors provide a quieter ride, and the dashboard has been resculpted for enhanced comfort and accessibility. New tech includes an available forward collision warning and lane departure systems, as well as the bow tie brand’s signature Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with available 4.2-inch or 8-inch color screens.
