The Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid is one of the most technologically impressive vehicles Chevrolet has ever made. At the core of the Chevrolet Volt’s capabilities lies a lithium ion battery made by Argonne National Laboratory of Chicago. For more than 40 years, scientists at this laboratory have made some of the most cutting-edge energy storage devices in the world. The Volt’s battery features one of Argonne’s coveted designs: cathode material technology. With this battery alone, the Volt can travel an EPA-estimated 35 miles. But because the Volt comes with a gasoline engine, it’s able to travel a total of 375 miles on one tank of gas.
To see how the new Chevrolet Volt works, come to City Chevrolet of San Diego for a test drive. Give us a call at (619) 817-8445 for more information about the Volt, and check out our website to see our selection of new and used Chevrolet vehicles.

The Chevrolet Impala has been an American classic for decades. Offering a spacious interior, a powerful engine, and solid value, the Chevrolet Impala has always been a favorite in the family-car segment. For 2014, Chevrolet completely redesigned the Impala from the ground up. With its staggering good looks and cutting-edge technology, it’s easy to admit that Chevrolet’s flagship sedan was worth the wait.
Ergonomic, Upscale Interior
One of the most impressive things about the Chevrolet Impala’s interior is how well the dashboard is organized. For 2014, the Impala’s button cluster has even been moved forward and slanted towards the driver. To complement the Impala’s ergonomic interior, Chevrolet added a stunning two-tone color scheme. The interior also features chrome and wood accents to create a decidedly upscale feel.
Three Powerful, Fuel-Sipping Engine Choices
The standard engine on the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is a four-cylinder that makes 195 horsepower and achieves 31 mpg on the highway. There’s an optional mild-hybrid engine that produces 182 horsepower and earns 35 mpg if you want a more fuel-efficient ride. If you want to go back to the Impala’s performance roots opt for the 303-horsepower 3.6-liter V6.
Smart Safety Features
Because the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is a family vehicle first and foremost, Chevrolet decided to offer it with a host of active safety features. The Safety package comes with a Forward Collision Alert, which alerts the driver if a potential collision is detected so that the driver can avoid it, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system, which warns you of oncoming traffic when you are backing out in a parking lot.
The all-new Chevrolet Impala will be at City Chevrolet of San Diego shortly. If you have any questions about the Chevy Impala, call our dealership at (619) 817-8445. We’ve been serving San Diego for 75 years, and are happy to show you the next-generation Impala.
